With the newly developed Mach Tread 3.0 compound and Swift Easy Casing technology, the Blackbird tire from Hutchinson offers 10% more efficiency than conventional products. It boasts exceptional grip and incredible durability, lasting over 4,000 km. The Blackbird is the fastest tire ever, thanks to four years of research and development.

Compared to other brands, the previous generation Fusion 5 had 10% more roll resistance. However, it has earned a long lifespan of over 4,000 kilometers. The key to reducing rolling resistance is the new Swift Easy Casing construction, where the casing is directly bonded to the center polyamide puncture-resistant layer, unlike the overlapping structures found in regular tires. The casing's final layer wraps the beads on both sides to reduce air leakage, while the Swift Easy Casing secures the 127 TPI casing's overlapping, providing greater flexibility in contact and significantly improving rolling resistance and comfort, which also reduces the tire's weight.

The result is an ultra-fast, comfortable, and lightweight Blackbird tire that weighs just 290 grams on 28 mm tires. Debuting with the Blackbird is the Mach Tread 3.0, the fastest and most efficient tread compound developed by Hutchinson. This all-new compound has incredible low rolling resistance and high rebound force, increasing energy return by 25% on road contact. The Mach Tread 3.0 is 10% harder than the previous Storm Compound 11, providing improved resistance and a lifespan of over 4,000 km, while maintaining the same level of grip as previous generations.

The design is based on the latest wide rim, and the tread is 15% wider than previous generation tires. The combination of a more flexible Swift Easy Casing ensures that the tire and road contact surface is wider laterally than in the front and back directions, resulting in aggressive cornering and reduced rolling resistance.
